We are looking for a Storeperson to join our skilled team of Operatives in our Hire Division based in Manchester. You will provide an effective service and maintain materials to optimum stock levels, ensuring full compliance with the Company operating procedures whilst ensuring effective cost controls at all times.
Where required, you will also refurbish and fit out the complete range of Portakabin buildings to the highest possible standards.
Role Details
- Hourly rate: £14.85 p/h, £30,115.80 per annum
- Opportunity to earn an additional hourly rate between £0.25 - £4.38 p/h, £507 - £8,882.64 per annum
- Role based: Manchester, OL2 6DX
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
* Regularly review, analyse and record costs of materials purchased, including cross hires and third party hiring.
* Ensures that the stores area is maintained to an acceptable and organised standard, ensuring all material storage areas and walkways are clean, tidy and unobstructed, and stock checks are carried out as per the schedule set by SAP.
* Maintain optimum stock levels as agreed by the Service Manager/Supervisor in conjunction with Materials Requisition Planning. Ensure that all materials required are ordered, tracked and available in a timely manner to meet our delivery requirements.
* Ensure compliance relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation to encourage and maintain zero harm environment and culture.
* Control the receipt/dispatch and accounting of all materials adhering to full compliance to the Company operating procedures in relation to ordering materials, issuing materials, booking out materials and overall stock accuracy.
* Ensure reused fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.
* Assist where required in the general fitting out and refurbishment of buildings both on and off site.
* Provide and maintain an adequate supply of PPE for the workforce, ensure allocation of PPE to Operatives is justified and controlled.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
* Experience gained within construction/related industry
* Knowledge of various software packages. SAP knowledge is essential
* GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent grade)
* Establishes good relationships with customers and staff, building effective networks
* Follows procedures and policies
* Good communication and organisation skills
* FLT licence is desirable
* Material controller experience is essential
