We’re looking for a proactive Distribution Coordinator to join the team at Portakabin. You’ll provide high standards of service to our clients and will actively engage with our customers and suppliers through our business to achieve optimal outcomes.  

 

Role Details: 

  • Salary: £27,000-£30,000 
  • Role based: York 
  • Contract type: Permanent 
  • Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays 

Role Responsibilities: 

 

*       Ensure that contracted vehicles are used efficiently and safely.

*       Be vigilant and pro-active in all matters of health, safety and environmental management, exercising your statutory and moral duty of care at all times.

*       Follow and comply with documented business procedures.

*       Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and provide a comprehensive distribution service to our colleagues.

*       Give advice and quotations, arranging site inspections and route surveys as necessary.

*       Maintain appropriate relationships with sub-contractors.

*       Develop a comprehensive understanding of approved haulier’s fleets and capabilities & keep up to date with changes.

*       Develop a comprehensive understanding of statutory regulations for the handling and transport of abnormal loads and those which relate to Portakabin products & keep up to date with changes.

 

 Our Ideal Candidate: 

 

We are looking for someone who has: 

 

*       Excellent negotiating, influencing and persuading skills  

*       Experienced in dealing with customers and providing them with a tailored service  

*       Understanding of lorry loaders and vehicle configurations  

*       Ability to solve complex problems and think analytically  

*       Health and safety awareness  

*       AP qualified would be desirable
