Job Title: Contracts Manager – Groundworks

Location: Can be based at any of our Portakabin locations within England and Wales

Salary: £50,000- £55,000

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, results driven individual who is keen to collaborate and engage with teams to become our new Contracts Manager - Groundwork.

Your role will be to lead and manage a multi-disciplined team of contractors, consultants, and internal personnel to deliver high value / risk Groundworks projects from inception through to conclusion of all matters.

To be successful in the role you will have come from Groundwork and Construction background as you will be responsible for the performance of Groundworks projects relating to commercial order wining, financial income & margin, project management, health & safety, team operations, and supply chain.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support Regional Groundworks / Hire teams in order winning by managing opportunity requirements including attending client sites and producing / managing tender submissions including Groundwork’s quotations, Scope of Works (SOW) and other supporting documents / information to ensure proposals are accurate, value engineered and fit for purpose.
  • Lead, guide and cooperate with regional resources as appropriate to ensure opportunities / projects are planned and delivered successfully to achieve requirements associated with commercial, operational, programme, health & safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure the Portakabin commercial position is robust by obtaining multiple quotations and appraising contractors returns to demonstrate compliance with the opportunity requirements and value for money.
  • Personify “Zero Harm” and promote a culture of proactive Health and Safety management by ensuring safe working and considering health and wellbeing.
  • Ensure that all works and operations are carried out and completed in accordance with any applicable project specific specifications, quality systems e.g., ISO 9001 & British Standards (BS) and at all times comply with the principles laid out in the Divisional Customer Charter.
  • Build strong relationships with teams outside of Groundworks, supporting one another to achieve the strategy for Groundworks.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience of Groundwork/Construction.
  • Competent at managing, forecasting and reporting project financial information
  • Previous experience in a project management related role, ideally within the construction industry (traditional or modular)
  • Proficient at interpreting / recording client requirements and planning actions to deliver against requirements and programme
  • Proven experience of managing health and safety within complex working environments
  • Experienced in producing and managing commercial practices e.g. tendering / work winning / bid development
